Bodycam video: LAPD use Taser to Take Down a Man Waving Samurai Swords in Mid-Wilshire

MID-WILSHIRE-Police arrested a man waving two samurai swords, after allegedly stabbing a female victim on Tuesday, October 18, on the 1200 block of Victoria Avenue, in the mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, according to LAPD.

The alleged stabbing transpired around 11:20 p.m., and Officers were dispatched to the incident location following an assault with a deadly weapon call., police say.

A video released by Police officers on Wednesday, October 19, shows authorities commanding a male suspect, identified as Eric Herrera, 23, to drop two samurai swords down.

According to Law Enforcement officers, the suspect did not respond to officers' orders, Police thereafter tased and arrested the suspect. Herrera was booked with attempted murder and is held on a $100,000 bond.

The victim's identity has not been immediately released, police indicated that the victim is 43 years of age. She was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Officers stated that the motive for the alleged stabbing could have been provoked due to some kind of family quarrel. However, it has not been confirmed what led to the incident. The relationship between the victim and the suspect has not been released.
