Potential Bomb Threat at The University of Utah Hospital

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH-On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, The University of Utah Hospital evacuated several patients and employees due to what was thought to be a possible bomb threat. The Salt Lake City's Bomb Squad, University Administrators, and a bomb-sniffing canine worked in unison and discovered, there was no bomb threat or evidence of explosives. Officials said.
Authorities indicated the incident transpired at approximately 4:00 p.m., when a backpack was left on the first floor, inside a restroom prompting the hospital to start evacuation procedures. After a thorough investigation, At roughly 7:00 p.m., officials reported the backpack was considered safe and there was no threat.

Hospital functions resumed Tuesday evening.
