Wrong-Way Motorist Hits Los Angeles Sheriff’s Cadets, Injuring 25

Whittier-Five individuals are in acute condition, after an automobile, traveling on the wrong side of the street along, the South Whittier area near Mills Avenue and Trumball Street hit the group of 25 cadets on a training exercise run, today at approximately 6:30 a.m., LASD said.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, more than twenty recruits sustained injuries. All injured victims were transferred to area hospitals, including the motorist was identified as a 22-year-old male, who is being held for questioning, and also suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Law Enforcement said.

LAFD was also at the scene of the incident.

The cause of the collision is under active investigation.
