Thanksgiving Shooting in Costa Mesa; leaves 1 dead, and 4 injured; suspect surrenders
One individual was killed and four other people were injured in a shooting on Thanksgiving evening, on the 400 block of West Bay Street near 6:50 p.m., in Costa Mesa, law officials said.
When police arrived at the scene officers found five injured people, authorities said. The victims were transported to area hospitals where one person passed away and another was listed in acute condition, according to the Costa Mesa police department.
After the shooting, the suspect exited the location in a black pickup truck, headed in the eastbound direction on Bay Street, but later turned himself into the authorities earlier this morning, according to the Costa Mesa Police.
No information on the suspect's identity was released.
Police said The shooting was thought to be an isolated incident, with no danger to the surrounding neighborhoods.
