1 Person died, and 2 People reported safe, in an Auto Fire in Vermont Square

Vermont Square-Firefighters were called to the scene of a vehicle fire that spread to a commercial building, one person was killed, and another victim escaped before officials arrived at the scene.

The auto-fire occurred at 1359 West 54th Street in the Vermont Square area of Los Angeles at 4:54 a.m., on November 27, 2022.

According to LAFD Arson investigators and LAPD, the victim who exited the vehicle was identified as a 15-year-old male and an unidentified died at the scene also thought to be a juvenile, according to the initial investigative report. 

No information was released on the medical condition of the two individuals who exited the vehicle, However, both parties were reported as safe.

34 firefighters extinguished the fire.

No further information was indicated, and the incident is under investigation.
