L.A. County probation chief released from his position

Chief Adolfo Gonzales of the Los Angeles County Probation Department was fired by the Board of Supervisors in a unanimous vote, concluding a rough two-year term.

Gonzales’s second-in-command Chief Deputy Karen Fletcher has been named the interim chief of the Probation Department, as reported by spokespeople for board Chair Janice Hahn and Supervisor Kathryn Barger.

Barger stated she supported bringing in a “strike team” to revamp the probation department. She said Gonzales failed at what was left of her support while visiting the juvenile halls several weeks ago.
