Grammy Award Winner Olivia Newton-John, Dies At 73

CELEBRITY —Songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and activist, Dame Olivia Newton-John, 73, passed away today in the morning, after a 30-year-long battle with cancer. She died peacefully at her ranch in Southern California, encircled by family and close friends.

The songstress was 43 years old when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought the disease and went into remission, and the disease returned in 2013, in 2017 cancer spread to her lower back, and later spread to her bones, that's when she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and reported advised by physicians that the chances of survival were low. Newton-John's battle sent her on a mission to fight and help others, she spent the majority of her worth, $60 million in assets, for extensive cancer research, towards the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.

Newton-John's music career took her on a journey of stardom, and fame, she graced the stage and television with the best actors and performers. Titles under her works include Physical, Have You Never Been Mellow, Totally Hot, If Not For You, and Physical 40th Anniversary Megamix. Her appearance with John Travolta in Grease was magnetic, it woke the world of dance and singing across the nation. There's so much more in the career journey of Olivia Newton-John, who is a four-time Grammy Award winner, with recognition in winning a Country Music Association Award in 1974, a Daytime Emmy Award in 1999, an American Music Award in the years, 1983, 1977, 1979, 1975, 1976, and of course there's more, Newton-John also won a People's Choice Awards in 1975, 1977, 1979, and a Juno Award which she received in 1979.

Newton-John was on born September 26, 1948, in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, she is survived by her husband of 14 years John Easterling, and her daughter Chloe Lattanzi, 36.
