Woman in Severe Condition After Being Burned in a Motel Room Fire

CHATSWORTH- A woman was found severely burned and transported to a vicinity hospital in grave condition, after a fire burst through a second-floor unit, of a two-story motel, at 21902 West Lassen Street.

The blaze erupted on January 15, 2023, at 4:30 a.m., When officials arrived at the scene, the fire sprinkler activation had extinguished the flames in the motel room.

An additional person was assessed for symptoms of nominal smoke inhalation and treated by  LAFD medics, and released on scene. LAPD was also at the scene.

LAFD Fire Investigators will determine the cause of the fire.
