Los Angeles County Firefighters, California Task Force 2, provides Aid in Turkey

Los Angeles-California Task Force 2 from the Los Angeles County Fire Department is dispatching a task force team of firefighters to Turkey after the devising  7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Syria and Turkey on Monday, February 6, 2023.

The quake destroyed homes, and businesses and killed more than 6,000 people.

According to fire officials, California Task Force 2 will provide relief efforts. Officials in Turkey requested assistance from the United States. 

Search teams continue to look in both countries,  for survivors and people who may be injured, in the wreckage of collapsed structures.
