Female Hiker Rescued in Shadow Hills

Firefighters were called to the scene of a report of a hiker being injured at 9225 Canter Ln in Shadow Hills.

When officials arrived at the location they found an adult female believed to be about 70 years old on a hiking trail with an injury to the lower extremity.

The injury caused the woman to be incapable of returning to her automobile. LAFD Air Rescue Operations used special equipment to lower a flight medic down in the terrain to help the victim, she was assessed and taken to a nearby hospital via air transport.

No report was released on the woman's identity, and no additional information is available currently.
