FDA Signs Partnership with Ecuador to Enhance Safety of Shrimp Imports

On August 29, 2023, it was announced that the FDA had entered into a Regulatory Partnership Arrangement (RPA) with Ecuador's seafood regulatory authority. The aim of this partnership is to ensure that shrimp intended for the U.S. market is safe for consumption. As the most consumed seafood in the country, the majority of shrimp consumed in the United States is imported. Ecuador is one of the top exporters of aquacultured shrimp to the U.S.
