The world premiere of 'THE LAST REPAIR SHOP' is happening this Saturday, directed by Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers. The movie is produced by Ben Proudfoot, Kris Bowers, Jeremy Lambert, and Josh Rosenberg.

Los Angeles is one of the last American cities providing free and repaired musical instruments to public schoolchildren. This service has been continuous since 1959 and is available to everyone.

THE LAST REPAIR SHOP offers a behind-the-scenes look into a nondescript downtown warehouse, where a dedicated team of craftsmen and women keep over 80,000 student instruments in good repair. The movie explores the profound life stories of four master craftspeople and the students whose lives have been transformed by the music program. Music has been the common thread that has mended their hearts and brought them to where they are now — fixing broken instruments to get them back into the hands of Los Angeles' public school youth.

Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers are the Academy Award®-nominated directing duo behind the movie. Ben Proudfoot is an Academy Award®-winning short-documentary director and entrepreneur, while Kris Bowers is an Emmy® Award-winning, two-time Grammy®-nominated and Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker and composer. They have both achieved significant recognition for their work in their respective fields, including nominations and awards from The Academy Awards®, The Emmys®, The Peabody Awards, Critics Choice Documentary Awards, The James Beard Awards, the Sundance Film Festival, Telluride, and the Tribeca Film Festival.
