Late on Saturday evening, a suspicious item was discovered in the ticketing area of Los Angeles International Airport's Tom Bradley Terminal. This prompted authorities to evacuate the area of all travelers and staff members.
The authorities called in the bomb squad to assess the item, and after a thorough investigation, it was deemed safe just before 11 p.m. The airport issued a statement saying that the item was found at approximately 9:30 p.m. and that the LAPD Bomb Squad responded and determined it to be safe.
Repopulation of the area resumed as normal. It is still unclear what the suspicious item was that prompted the investigation.
