A fire broke out in a four-story apartment building located at 833 S Fedora Street in Korea Town today at 2:47 p.m. Upon arrival, LAFD fire officials noticed smoke coming from the roof and discovered that the flames were located in the elevator room and shaft, causing smoke to spread throughout the building.

Firefighters quickly got to work by cutting holes on the roof to allow smoke and heated gases to escape, while crews were evacuating residents from the building. Fortunately, the 50 firefighters on the scene were able to extinguish the fire within 25 minutes and clear the smoke, allowing all residents to return to their homes.
