Late Monday evening, a 12-year-old boy was hospitalized after being hit by a bus in North Hollywood. The crash happened near Chandler Boulevard and Bellaire Avenue around 10 p.m. This area is designated for bus lanes that are not usable by other traffic. The boy was riding a scooter when the collision occurred, and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators plan to review the bus' surveillance footage to determine the cause of the accident. As investigators surveyed the scene and spoke with witnesses, the scooter could be seen lying in the middle of the intersection with SkyCal overhead.

The bus involved in the accident was a G Line (Orange Line) operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Agency.
