A Small Aircraft Crashes in Compton
Today a small Airplane crashed in Compton on Wednesday, near Woodley Airport at 159th Street and South Central Avenue at 8:10 a.m., the Downey Fire Department said.
According to officials, one occupant identified as the pilot was in the plane, which also struck a vehicle parked near the crash. The plane sustained observable damage to the aircraft's left wing. 29 gallons of fuel spilled onto the street.
The pilot was assessed with minor wounds and refused medical treatment
The cause of the crash has not been released.
Another small airplane crashed in Compton at South Oleander Avenue and West Reeve Street. this month.
