RIVERSIDE-Police Officials are investigating a shooting after a patron at a massage Parlor in Riverside opened gunfire and wounded a suspect who was trying to commit a robbery, police said.

According to officials, the incident occurred on Wednesday, before 10 p.m. at E-Joy Foot And Body Massage. The Riverside Police Department said a customer fired gunshots after two male suspects tried to rob the place, police said.

Authorities originally identified the shooter as a staff member.

The two suspects exited the scene, but one of the suspects sustained an injury and was located at Northgate Market,  a store in the area, and was transported to a local hospital. The second suspect remains at large.

The massage business was closed when the incident transpired. No workers were wounded or anything pilfered, police said.

Police say the customer's firearm was registered legally, and the investigation will be turned over to the district attorney.
