Man killed, 2 wounded after being struck by gunfire in Wilmington; suspect remains on the loose

Wilmington- Authorities are searching for a suspect responsible for murdering a man and injuring two other victims in a shooting that took place at approximately 11:30 p.m., on Saturday in the 1000 block of Sanford Avenue, police say.

According to officials at the scene, the suspected gunman approached the victims discharged a firearm, and exited the location.

The victims were transported to the hospital where a male believed to be in his 50s succumbed to his injuries. A male in his 30s was admitted into ICU in acute condition. The 3rd victim, a female who appeared to be in her 30s, was assessed to be in sound condition, police say.

Police said The motive for the incident remains unclear. The shooting is still under investigation.
