A structure fire that occurred in the Palms area was knocked down by LAFD. The incident took place on October 7, 2023, at 2:59 p.m., located at 10480 W National Bl. The preliminary report indicated that the fire broke out on the top floor of a three-story apartment building in a single unit. At 2:41 pm, the firefighters arrived at the location to battle the fire. Firefighters took control of the situation and extinguished the fire within just 18 minutes. The fire was contained within one top-floor apartment, which had excessive personal storage. The apartment was situated in the northwest section of a 53,762 square foot, 80-unit, three-story garden-style apartment building that was built in 1968. There were no injuries reported.
A total of 48 firefighters were involved in the operation, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
