Pedestrian struck and killed in Long Beach

Law Enforcement Officials are searching for the hit-and-run motorist who fatally hit a pedestrian in Long Beach on Friday, October 6, 2023.

The Long Beach Police Department said the crash occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m. in the vicinity of Orange Avenue and Banner Drive.

Once officials arrived at the scene, they located a male, identified as Felix Castro, 51, lying on the road. He was beyond medical attention and was determined deceased at the scene.

Detectives discovered that Castro was crossing the street on Orange Ave. westbound, across southbound lanes, when he was hit, adding, that he was not crossing the street in a marked crosswalk at the time of the incident.
 Currently, There was no description of the suspect or the automobile involved.
