The U.S. Census Bureau releases the Monthly State Retail Sales

The U.S. Census Bureau recently published the July 2023 Monthly State Retail Sales Report (MSRS) on October 31. The MSRS report presents interactive visualizations of state-level data that combine information from the Monthly Retail Trade Survey data, administrative data, and third-party data.

The report provides year-over-year percentage changes for total retail sales by state and 11 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes, starting from January 2019. However, nonstore retailers are not included in the report.
