Pedestrian killed in auto crash in Long Beach

Detectives are investigating a vehicle collision that killed a person near a 7-Eleven in Long Beach on Monday, November 13, 2023.

The LBFD arrived at the scene at approximately 6:00 p.m. Authorities say the incident occurred close to the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Officers said the unidentified victim, was assessed and treated by paramedics but perished at the scene.

As reported by AIR7 HD, video footage revealed that both automobiles were severely damaged.

A bus stop bench also appeared to be badly damaged.

The motorist of one of the cars was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries,  The motorist of the second automobile was treated at the scene, detectives said.

The cause of the collision is under active investigation but officers believe speed may be the cause of the crash..

According to other vehicle owners, their automobiles were also damaged, Long Beach police said. No additional information is currently known.
