10-Freeway Arson suspect's photo released by Police Officials

LOS ANGELES, CA — On November 18, Officials released images of the male suspect who allegedly set the storage yard fire that resulted in the closure of the Santa Monica Freeway, causing a state of emergency in Los Angeles.

According to reports from CalFire, the suspect is a male in his early 30s, has dark hair, and may have sustained burn injuries on his left lower extremity. He was caught on security video exiting the area roughly the exact time the fire began on November 11, sometime after midnight.

"The fire was determined to be incendiary (arson) on State of California property. A person of interest was identified. The suspect was wearing, a black jacket, blue shorts, and a black backpack and was carrying a green scarf, CalFire said in a statement. "To note, the subject also had a knee brace on his right knee. The suspect's race is currently unknown, he stands 6 feet tall and weighs 170-190 pounds, Investigators said.
