Marty Krofft, creator of classic Television shows for kids, dies at 86
LOS ANGELES-Marty Krofft, 86, who produced children's TV shows including Lidsville, Land of the Lost, H.R. Pufnstuf, and The Bugaloos, passed away on Saturday, November 25.
Krofft's death was confirmed by his representatives who also stated, he died from kidney failure.
Krofft and his brother Sid created "D.C. Follies, " Sigmund, and the Sea Monsters, and Most recently, the Kroffts created “Mutt & Stuff,” a Nickelodeon series in 2015.
Born in Montreal to parents of Russian ancestry, Marty Krofft's family hailed from Providence, R.I., and then New York City. Krofft’s brother Sid, 94, started a career in puppeteering as a youth, evolving into a professional who revealed his skills in vaudeville and joined the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at 15.
Marty Krofft wedded Christa Rogalski (Christa Speck), a former Playboy Playmate, from 1965 until she passed in 2013.
Brothers Sid and Harry, three daughters, Deanna Krofft-Pope, Kristina Krofft, and Kendra Krofft; five grandkids; and one great-grandchild survive Marty Krofft.
