Hey, movie buffs! Sarah Carter's award-winning film, "In Her Name," will be available on Tribeca online starting December 1st. You can watch it on Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, and as a standalone app on IOS and Android. Earlier this year, the project had its World Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival and was awarded the Audience Award.
"In Her Name" is a quintessential LA story that interweaves a personal family narrative with the backdrop of LA's arts, music, and spiritual worlds. The film is inspired by the life of the late feminist painter, Huguette Caland, and explores many of life's biggest challenges through a distinctly female gaze. It's a highly stylized dramedy that zings LA's contemporary art scene with a wink, offering style, drama, wit, and a touch of mysticism.
The film stars Erin Hammond, an award-winning actor and fine artist, alongside Ciera Danielle and Philippe Caland. Philippe Caland is known for producing "Dead Girl" with Val Kilmer, "Infinity" with Matthew Broderick and Patricia Arquette, and more, as well as starring alongside the likes of Forest Whitaker, Mike Epps, and Minnie Driver!
"In Her Name" opens the entry to the realm of dysfunction, heartache, a puzzlement of creative art, and the will to survive. Along with a few surprises, the film portrays a battle to be oneself with touches of love along the way. The film is well-written and has an impressive cast.
