A shooting occurred inside an occupied restaurant at the L.A. Live entertainment venue on Tuesday, November 29, and a man was killed, officers say.

LAPD was dispatched to Fixins Soul Kitchen, near Olympic Boulevard and Figueroa Street after the incident transpired at approximately 6:10 p.m.

Authorities reported that the suspect, who was defined as an adult man, came into the soul-food restaurant and discharged a firearm. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a male in his 20s with a gunshot injury.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

According to reports by LAPD Cmdr. Lillian Carranza, the suspect knew the victim, and the incident was not a random occurrence.

A female at the restaurant also suffered an abrasion injury and was medically treated at the scene, Carranza said. Authorities do not think the victims were related.

Officers said the suspect fled in a white Ford, maybe an SUV, and the suspect is to be considered to be "armed and dangerous."

The restaurant is next to the GRAMMY Museum, is within walking distance of Crypto.com Arena, and is neighbor to the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Peacock Theater, and The Novo.
The case remains under active investigation.
