On December 1st, 2023 at 1:57 pm, a single-family dwelling located at 9667 N Laramie Av caught fire.
The firefighters were prepared to handle the situation, but were alerted of a person with a gun involved in the incident, which prompted them to stand by. The LAPD also reported shots fired.
Firefighters acted quickly, positioning themselves in a defensive position to knock back the bulk of the flames and provide the LAPD with enough room to conduct their operation. LAPD later confirmed the suspect was in custody and firefighter/paramedics were dispatched to treat/transport the patient. Once the situation was deemed safe, firefighters launched an offensive operation to tackle the original fire unit and any exposed homes.
The fire was extinguished in just 23 minutes, and while it remains unclear if any damage was sustained by the exposed home, the patient was transported to an unknown medical facility.
No further details are available at this time.
