Actor Ryan O'Neal Dies at 82

Actor Charles Patrick Ryan O'Neal, known professionally as Ryan O'Neal has passed away, his son announced on Friday, December 8. O'Neal was 82 years old.

O'Neal was highly recognized for his acting accomplishments in television soaps, an Oscar-nominated role in "Love Story" and his performance in "Paper Moon," which was astounding.

O'Neal's' acting career was active into his 70s in the 2010s when he graced television screens on "Bones" and "Desperate Housewives.

 O'Neal was with Actress Farah Fawcett for almost 30 years, they had a son, Redmond, who was born in 1985. The couple parted ways in 1997 but got back together a few years later. He stayed by Fawcett's side as she fought cancer, and died at age 62.

He and  his first wife, Joanna Moore,  had two children who are actors,  son Griffin O'Neal and daughter Tatum O'Neal, his co-star in the 1973 movie "Paper Moon," for which she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. He had a son Patrick with his second wife, Leigh Taylor-Young.

O'Neal appeared on screen with a slew of Hollywood actors, he had several challenges in his personal and business life but managed to bounce back leaving remembrances of good times to settle any doubts that was a legendary actor and great father.

Ryan O'Neal was born on April 20, 1941,  the son of screenwriter Charles O'Neal and actress Patricia Callaghan O'Neal.
