A church community in Pomona is devastated after a fire destroyed the Victory Outreach Church on Sunday. The church was preparing for its Christmas production, the Belief Play, when the fire broke out overnight.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames, but the church was declared a total loss. Congregant Monica Flores shared that the Belief Play was an important event for the church as it brought the community together and served as a toy drive. The loss of the church is heartbreaking to many people, including Flores, who rushed to the scene after seeing pictures of the fire.
The Victory Outreach Church was established in the 1980s and specializes in inner-city ministry, focusing on individuals with a history of drug addiction. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but no injuries were reported.
