On December 20, 2023, the FDA issued warning letters to three online retailers for selling unauthorized e-cigarettes. These e-cigarettes imitated packaging for bottles of alcohol and were sold under the brand name Luckee Vape Daniels. These flavored, disposable e-cigarette products came in a variety of common alcoholic drink flavors, such as icy pina colada, frozen strawberry daiquiri, frozen margarita, and watermelon martini.

According to the data from the 2023 National Youth Tobacco Survey, disposable products are the most commonly used type of e-cigarettes among U.S. middle and high school students. Almost 9 in 10 current youth e-cigarette users reported using flavors, with fruit flavors being the most popular (63.4%). Around one in 14 (7.2%) reported using products with alcoholic drink flavors, which could be appealing to young people.
