CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL; ORGANIZED RETAIL CRIME TASK FORCE ARREST L.A. Woman in million-dollar retail theft ring
A 48-year-old woman named Brenda Yanez was arrested in Los Angeles after being linked to an organized retail theft ring that targeted stores like CVS, Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Rite Aid, Nordstrom, and the 99 Cents Only Store. California Highway Patrol officers served a search warrant at a warehouse in Paramount and The Makeup Store on Whittier Boulevard in L.A, where they found over $1 million in stolen cosmetics and tools used to remove anti-theft devices. Brenda Yanez is being charged with organized retail theft, grand theft, and possession of stolen property. The CHP has stated that they will work with their loss prevention partners, allied agencies, and prosecutors through the holidays to combat organized retail crime throughout California. The incident remains under investigation.
