Early this morning at 2:10 am, a fire broke out in a one-story movie studio located at 2800 N Division Street and San Fernando Road, causing heavy damage to the 11,120 square-foot industrial structure. The site had just concluded a public event, possibly a wedding when the fire erupted, but all attendees and staff were able to evacuate safely.
157 firefighters from the LAFD responded and took 84 minutes to access, contain, and extinguish the blaze that had already spread to the roof of the building. The studio, which is known as L.A. River Studios, is a media production and event space. Firefighters will remain at the scene into the morning to put out any hotspots.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. LAFD Public Information Officer Captain Cody Weireter is on the scene to assist the media.
