An individual who was wanted for assault, and was armed, barricaded themselves inside a residence in the unincorporated area of Lake Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau was called to assist deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station with the suspect in the 16200 block of Chuka Avenue.
The standoff lasted for almost seven hours. The suspect was eventually apprehended and arrested by Special Enforcement Bureau personnel at around 2 a.m. on Thursday, December 28. The residents living in the surrounding neighborhoods who were evacuated during the barricade were allowed to return to their residences after the suspect was apprehended.
