SOUTH, LOS ANGELES-A great-grandfather was killed in a hit-and-run collision that was captured on camera in South Los Angeles.
The incident occurred on Wednesday near the corner of Adams Boulevard and Main Street said the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim identified as Alberto Castaneda Aco,72, was on his way home from work when officers said suspects in a stolen Infiniti drove through a red light and slammed into another automobile. The motorist of the Infiniti then lost control of the vehicle and struck the victim.
Mr. Aco sustained a blunt-force concussion and later passed away at the hospital.
Officers think the suspects may have been driving under the influence.
A picture of some of the suspects was taken by a witness at the scene before they fled from the location and left the man lying in the street without rendering aid.
According to Mr. Aco's family, he was an avid boxer as a young male in Mexico, a father of five children, a granddad of eight, and a great-grandfather.
A GoFundMe page has been created to assist the family, but they are requesting the public's help finding the suspects before any additional incidents or innocent lives are lost.
Anybody with information is urged to call the LAPD's Central Traffic Division.
