1 injured, CHP investigates collision caused by potential gun violence
VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES-One individual was hospitalized in unknown condition on Friday, January 12, after CHP responded to a solo-auto collision that may have been a result of a probable shooting on the 405 Freeway in Van Nuys.
An accident was reported at around 5 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway near the Burbank Boulevard off-ramp. A vehicle had collided with the center divider. Emergency services responded to the call and found an injured person at the scene. The extent of their injuries was not specified. Upon investigation, authorities discovered a bullet hole in the damaged vehicle.
As a result, early morning traffic on the northbound side of the freeway was congested while the authorities conducted their investigation. Two lanes were open, while three others remained closed for several hours. Later, around 8 a.m., the Highway Patrol shut down all northbound lanes to search for evidence. There was no given time frame for when the lanes would reopen.
