On January 20, 2024, at 8:51 am, a two-story single-family home located at 115 E Av 39 MAP was reported to have heavy smoke showing and in offensive mode. The message also included a URL for more information.
Later, at 9:11 am, firefighters arrived at the scene and found that the fire had started on the second floor and had extended into the attic. The crews used fire attack hose lines to extinguish the fire. At the same time, ventilation crews cut holes in the roof to allow heat and smoke to escape. It took 34 firefighters 20 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. The fire appeared to have started near a space heater, but no injuries were reported..
