CHP EAST LOS ANGELES IMPAIRED DRIVING TASK FORCE OPERATION The California Highway Patrol (CHP), East Los Angeles Area, announces an Impaired Driving Task Force Operation to be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, within the greater East Los Angeles area. The operation will begin at approximately 9:00 p.m. and end at 6:30 a.m. The primary mission of the operation is to ensure public safety, enforce the law, and protect property, by conducting proactive DUI enforcement patrol within the specific East Los Angeles Area’s boundaries. The multi-office impaired driving task force will be staffed by officers who are trained in the detection of alcohol and drug-impaired drivers. Drug Recognition Experts, certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will be on-site to assess drivers suspected of drug use on the spot. The officers will also be equipped with hand-held breath testing devices which provide an accurate measure of the blood alcohol concentration of suspected impaired drivers.
