Northridge Electrical Fire

On January 31, LAFD received a call at 2:03 PM, about Scaffolding overturning and falling into power lines at a four-story apartment complex currently under construction, at 8940 N Reseda Blvd.

There is no immediate report of injuries. However, a report of electrical arcing and diminutive flames involving rubble is around the energized scaffolding. all workers self-evacuated from the building with no report of fire.

LADWP has been called to the scene. Traffic in the area is closed at Reseda Boulevard between Rayen Street and Nordhoff Street until LADWP units have secured the power line and determined the location and area are safe for traveling.
