My Interview With Award-Winning Film Editor Lisa Robison

I had the pleasure of having an interview with awarding-winning Film Editor Lisa Robison. Lisa is the person behind the scenes who put the film together to present you with the best film possible. She steps from the camera and electrical department to Film and Television Editor, with a background in visual effects.

Lisa has been called on by the best filmmakers to add her expertise, advice, and guidance along the journey of creating a great film. There are no shortcomings when it comes to Lisa's professionalism, and just in case you didn't know, film editing is not an easy task. Lisa is an expert!

Lisa has an amazing personality, she is gracious and understanding, she gets to the point, and does not beat around the bush. She states the facts and summarizes the possibilities to make changes while working on films that promote a positive message, when it comes to filmmaking she leaves no stones unturned.

Lisa's most recent skills can be seen in films including Firefly Lane (2021), American Dreamer 2022, Loudermilk 2017, My Life Without Me (2003), The L Word (2004) Neflixs Firefly Lane Seasons 1 and season 2, the comedy American Dreamer  2022, she has earned 11 awards and 17 award nominations, which include:

2021 – Leo Award nomination for Best Picture Editing Dramatic Series You Me Her – Say Something, Say Anything, 2021 – Leo Award nomination for Best Picture Editing Music, Comedy or Variety, Loudermilk – When I’m Alone, 2019 – Canadian Cinema Editors Nomination for Best Picture Editing in a Family, MOW, Live Action, Zombies 2019 – Leo Award for Best Picture Editing in a Music, Comedy, or Variety Program or Series, The Simone Biles Story: Courage To Soar, 2019 – Leo Award for Best Picture Editing in a Music, Comedy, or Variety Program or Series Loudermilk – Saturday Night, 2019 – Leo Nomination for Best Picture Editing in Dramatic Series “Unspeakable – Krever” 2018 – Daytime Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Single-Camera Editing ‘Cop And A Half, New Recruit.

These are only a few of Lisa's accomplishments, list of awards, and nominations. The success avenue for Lisa Robison doesn't stop at film and television, Lisa has done some film producing.

When she is not busy working on a film, she enjoys anything that allows her to spend time outdoors, and who wouldn't, since Lisa spends most of her time creating masterpieces in the dark. Lisa is a member of IATSE 891, A.C.F.C., Canadian Cinema Editors, Vancouver Post Alliance, The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, and The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

After Lisa returns from vacation, I look forward to seeing more of her work, and whatever she works on, is sure to be magnificent.
