Coyote Attacks 2-year-old Child At A Park In Fountain Valley, Police Say

FOUNTAIN VALLEY- A 2-year-old child was attacked by a coyote on Tuesday, June 14, at Mile Square Regional Park, near the 405 Freeway and the Santa Ana River, around 2:30 p.m., according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.

The incident caused a stir in the community. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife proceeded with an immediate search for the animal, but could not locate the animal's whereabouts, authorities announced on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

The search was turned over to the Department of Agriculture to locate and euthanize the coyote.

If you see a coyote please notify authorities right away. Do not leave small children and animals unattended.
