Federal Emergency Alert System hits Cellphones, radios and Televisions today

On October 4th, at 2:30 p.m., the Federal Emergency Management Agency will conduct a test to ensure that warning systems for national emergencies are effective in notifying the public via their cell phones. This test is being conducted in coordination with the Federal Communication Commission to ensure the safety of the public.

The EAS portion of the test will send an emergency alert to all radios and televisions, while the WEA portion will direct signals.
