FSIS Issues Public Health Alert For Frozen Mushroom Risotto Products Due To Misbranding And Undeclared Allergens
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture has released a public health alert for frozen mushroom risotto products. The reason for the alert is that the product has been misbranded and an allergen has not been declared. The product, which is labeled as porcini mushroom risotto bites, may contain hot dogs in puff pastry. Hot dogs contain sesame, which is a known allergen, but it has not been declared on the product label. This public health alert has been issued by FSIS to inform consumers who have a sesame allergy that these products should not be consumed.
